Info needed on LARGE Boats / Research Vessels (100ft+)

Hey there! I work for a company that helps secure funding and acquire resources for Alaskan tribes. I've owned two sailboats of my own but I need some information on a large ship.

We are looking at what the general cost would be for a research vessel. I've been researching this for a bit and thought that this forum would be a good place to ask for advice.

We are looking for a 105 ft vessel to use as a research vessel to investigate algal blooms in the North Pacific. We can renovate a boat for this purpose so it does not need to be a research vessel, just one that could become a research vessel later on.

If anybody has information / resources regarding estimating the cost of a vessel of this sort in Alaska, it would be greatly appreciated.

My guess, start at 10-15 million for a vessel that is seaworthy but needs work

Thanks for the input. The imaging instrument is 150k on it's own. It seems like the main thing is having it be sea-worthy for Alaskan conditions. The government has repurposed various different ships as research vessels (i.e. King Crab boats), but something like the Qualifier 105 seems right for what we need.

If the retired CG cutter ACUSHNET was still for sale (it might be, I dunno) that would be perfect. A little bigger than you want but well suited to that environment (she was homeported out of Ketch for 12 yrs before decomm).
