Re: Good news for old Volvo I/O set up
Re: Good news for old Volvo I/O set up
Ohh yea with the fuel pump leaking like that I wasn?t about to take it out like that, just driving a bomb that way
lol, running in the drive way with the doghouse fully removed and the bilge plug out I wasn?t sweating it just to get her running. I hooked up an electric fuel pump the next time I went to fire up. The plan is to get the rebuild kit for it 100 bucks at my local shop.
So we took her out for our first splash and test run. Tied off bout 100? lead off the last cleat on the dock fired up and powered back up to dock to check if she ran under load no problem hit reverse for the same, and then ran her up river and back. She did get hot but I now know that the outdrive is good, no milky gear oil!! She is very stable too handled well.
She had good power but I?m still gona do a compression test to see where the rings are. What numbers should I be hoping for normal compression on these engines?
? If that checks out then I?m in for: rebuilding the fuel pump both water pumps and a tune up should be good from there mechanical wise...
Got all the registration figured out and paid for only cost 130 bucks for green sticker and pti plate all current now.
On to the deck and gauges after that. We are guesstimating about 1000-1500 total for this build.
