In gear well in nutral postion

Just got done replaceing the impeller on a Suzuki DT85 year 85 and now the boat is stuck in gear. Was there something I was suppose to do when I put the lower unit back up. I just retightend the screw I losened on the linkage to drop the unit in the first place? Any help with this would be great.

Did you put the motor in reverse before dropping the lower unit?

I may have put the lower unit in gear when I went to take it off. After alot of research on this sight I found someone who has had the same problem. He gives a very good explanation on how to fix it. I will try later today and hope it works out.
