Impeller Repair

I just replaced the impeller on the water pump of my 1996 200 mercury. After I put it back together the gear shift is hanging up. What would cause this?

What is the s/n of your engine and I will get you the service manual.
When you installed the LU, did you ascertain that the boat controls and the LU were in the same gear?

I'll have to get the s/n for you tomorrow. How do I know if the LU and the boat control are in the same gear?

I think it's aligned. When I hooked it up I put the shaft from the boat gears into the spline in the LU.

did you make sure the throttle was in the same possition as the LU when puting it back up?
