Impeller Issues

I installed a new impeller yesterday. When I ran it after installation it pee'd good, however when I took it to water the next day it wasn't peeing anymore. Seems as if the impeller stopped running after one day. Any answers as to why? My motor is a Johnson 25hp 2 stroke.

Check the rubber tube, pull it from the block fitting....you might have a plug.

If it still doesn't pee, check for an overheat with an IR gun.

Next is pull the foot and examine everything related.

There is a chance. The last impeller was torn to shreds. There could've been leftover pieces I didn't clean out causing the issue.

sounds bad... you have to find any chunks .
Take down the LU and try a back flush check thermostat cavity fo r any bits .. try air blasting from the pee output . recheck the key

some cheap implellers have been known to slip on their center core and spin free ......with impeller fins going nowhere .

Not just cheap ones....I spun my original 1991 evinrude 8 horse that I bought brand new.

Of course it was 25 years old at the time!
