Impeller direction?

Hi guys. I just pulled off my lower unit to inspect the impeller and sure enough its a goner. It was worn down enough that I can't tell which direction to put the new one in. Its a 99 120hp Force. Thanks.

Maybe look at old impeller to see which way the rubber vanes were facing and install new one the same?

Good idea Robert. I could also tell by the rubber left behind. I figured out the impeller direction. Its the same as drawn here: http://www.boatpartstore.com/obdrive.asp

Once I took out the impeller and let it sit for a couple minutes it resume its natuaral shape, plus I could tell by the rubber marks.

Makes no difference which way it goes.It will seat itself.Grease it up good.J
