Hey all,

Hope everyone is having a nice 3 day weekend. Me, I'm trying to get our new/used boat ready for at least a few trips out on the Sound before winter. So after doing my reading on this forum, I figured it was prudent to replace the impeller considering I don't know when it was last replaced. Good thing...What I discovered was a thoroughly damaged impeller. Not good... 20210905_113335.jpg20210905_113332.jpg20210905_113329.jpg20210905_113326.jpg20210905_112536.jpg20210905_112533.jpg

Doesn't look like any pieces large enough to get lodged came off. You might check the oil cooler if it has power steering and the thermostat housing for hung up pieces.

Glad you are going through things. Any used boat needs all the maintenance done before trusting it on the water.

Unless your boat already has a heat exchanger, or you are installing a new motor, you cannot successfully install a heat exchanger on a operating motor. You will most certainly plug up the heat exchanger with flaked off scale.

Doesn't seem like it, but I purchased the kit, so I'm replacing everything. Figured it doesn't cost much and it's good insurance if you know what I mean.
Ayuh,.... Before you put it back together, put yer garden hose into the t-stat end of the in-comin' water line, 'n let 'er rip,......
That'll flush out any debris that might cause later issues,.....
