impellar change on omc 4.3

im working on changeing the impellar on my omc 4.3 model 986032 its on a 93 galaxie 4.3 1950v so the question is where do i begin a link on spliting the outboard to access the impellar pump would be very helpful cause i got no idea how this is done. im not geting water up top at t stat housing using water mufffs on outboard i read around the forum a bit and read about possible blockage in the line going to water pump also what is the impellar pump or kit i need to be shopping for im really wanting to get this project on the lake thanks all

To remove the impellar (raw water pump) you have to remove the out drive top cover, just a couple bolts.. I had the same problem with muffs out of water, ruined a new raw water impeller. I gave up and took it to the river to see and it worked, I don't trust muffs!!!! After that I took the impeller off and hooked my muffs up and water never got to the input of the impeller, muffs to big???? All I know is that it stays cool all day in the lake lol
