I'm getting unknown sender emails that I can't block

Today I've received 3 emails (so far) from an Unknown Sender with subjects like Fat Burning Secrets, You've Been Chosen and so on. Seriously scamming but I'm having a problem.

I'm on Windows 10, using Outlook 2016 installed on my laptop.

With other such emails I simply right-click on them, go to Junk and Block Sender.

However, these emails aren't allowing me to do that, which is very weird. When I right click and try to block, they don't go away. Outlook acts like it doesn't see them. I can select them and manually delete them, but I'd prefer not to go that route every time.

I also tried creating a Rule for them, but no joy again. Outlook gives an error saying "The attempted operation failed. An object cannot be found." However, I can create Rules for all of my other emails.

I don't want to open these suspicious emails because I know that there's nothing good in there.

A little help? :)

Can you logon to your email providers webmail interface?
If so, you might try and create a rule there to stop them.

Have no idea what your present email setup is, but I have a button at the top of mine and you can mark emails as spam and they never show again... Just an idea, but I'm sure if you had that option you wouldn't be asking...

Thanks, that did the trick! (y) :)
On the webmail version, the sender was showing and I was able to block them.

Of course, I hadn't used webmail for a couple years and also have new equipment, so had to go through a password reset. 🤪

I've used a program called Mail Washer before with good results. You run it before you launch Outlook. It downloads your current new email and you can pre-process it with rules to block unwanted emails. Version I last used let you customize the reject message as well. Once done pre-processing all the messages, launch Outlook and have at it with the genuine messages you want to review/respond to.

Food for thought if it gets truly annoying.
