How many of us were following and participated in Riv's New boat quality issues threads?? Only to be handed this as a resolution......................

Well I'm calling Bull Ship!! Seems to me the OP used iboats, a publicly accessible boating forum (and who knows what other forums) and us, all that participated in the threads to extort a resolution, (cut a deal, call it what you want) from the dealer and Donzi. Then has the gall to request the threads be deleted.....................and for some unknown reason iboats obliges him. The thread was locked..............should have left it at that............................ Seems part of the deal included Riv keeping the entire deal under raps and out of the public arena. And Riv requesting removal of all negative publicity posted information/opinions concerning the case................man that took ba11's.......................... Through the course of the original threads Riv and I PM'd back and fourth..............after reading the "Closure" I PM'd Riv again and have yet to hear from him. This just dose not sit right with me. I guess my hats off to Riv for play'n us like puppets...............he pulled the strings...............we danced his dance......................and he collected at the gate.

It is quite odd that suddenly there was fantastic praise for Donzi. It is quite odd that the threads vanished. It does look like Riv worked some sort of "drug deal" to get his boat fixed.

Honestly, I don't blame him for wanting his $50k boat fixed so it is the way he ordered it. Maybe he did sacrifice his morals in trading the fix for the removal of negative publicity, BUT those threads are burned in many of our minds and would think twice about buying a Donzi still. Many of us may still inform others of the Riv saga even though we can't handily point somebody at a thread to read. Much damage was done to Donzi already, there will still be fallout from those threads for quite some time, the censorship of them doesn't erase our minds though.

All in all, I don't care how he got it done, I'm just glad he's happy and has his dream boat.

Well I'm glad, that I am not the only one to read his last post, and wonder, WHAT THE F! My first thought was, that as part of his deal, he had to print some sort of retraction..

I agree, what a tool he his. I also think it is funny how quick a lot of people on this board are to jump on a poster's cause without any real knowledge of the situation and without knowing the poster. Maybe people will learn after this that some of these posters are really full of crap and not to be believed from the beginning. Talk about blind faith, I just don't get it, but God forbid anyone questions the OP because then you will be bannished to some Iboats hell by some uninformed moderator. BTW, if this had been a negative post about Bayliner, the post would have been deleted before anyone even had a chance to read it! You can find this negative stuff about any manufacturer if you dig hard enough.

Well LT, mostly adding as a member as my thoughts to this.
You know if I had spent $50K on a boat and went through all this to get it resolved, I would at least let everyone know what or how it got resolved.

This thread is waaaay out of line.

1. If you are dumb enough to hear the case for the plaintiff and pass judgement without the whole story you have only your naivite to blame.

2. If a deal gets struck in which all accusations are withdrawn and the nature of the settlement is agreed to not be disclosed, that is what will happen. It happens all the time.

3. Any member may request that his/her thread or post be deleted for any reason at any time. It will be deleted.

4. Bashing is forbidden here.

For any or all of the above reasons, this thread is dead. After Mod discussion it may be history.
