Just like intersections, people see you pulling out of a lot, regarless of left right or straight, and they come at you like there is nothing behind the vehicle, or they assume you will move from a dead stop to full speed like a car w/o trailer. Idiots

Turns out we both have the same insurance company. He made a claim I found out Saturday. I have no damages or injuries on my side so that simplifies things for me. I have decided to forward the photos of the scene to the agent handling the claim, and let them hack it out. If I'm at fault so be it. I don't have the time or the patience to fight over it. Had my 18 month old daughter taken to the hospital by ambulance Friday night so it put things in perspective.

In case any of you wer hangin on your seat, I came across this post so I'll finish it up. <br /><br />He claimed small damages for his bumper. Due to the orientation of the vehicles, and since I was the one moving so he claimed and I could not refute), of course it was payable by my (our) insurancee. No surcharge or anything. Water under the bridge. <br /><br /><br />PS - the kid is fine too. She had a high fever and had a femeral (sp) seizure. Temp was 104 when EMT's arrived, after my wife had undressed her and cooled her a bit. We got lucky with a temp like that. Almost forgot about that until I read this.

There sure are some stupid drivers out there..... I did the same thing in the semi-a "cripple carrier" van(yeah its not a pc phrase but who cares)drove uyp behind me while I was reversing round a slight corner....I had hazards on, reversing lights and a reversing beeper-and someone watching for traffic. She STILL thought it was where she wanted to be. When the trailer hit her I thought I'd touched the kerb and hity the throttle so I pushed...

Kinda unrelated. I hate it when I pull up to the pump to get gas in my 84 chevy farm truck. Its got fuel tanks on bothsides , and the service stations hose wont reach across the truck. I fill up one side lay the nozzel on the ground and turn the truck around and fill the other side. twice I have had some idiot pull in while I was turning around. Im not buying thier fuel. I have also had them get Irate when I fill up my truck then pull up to fill the boat. I guess we need to make a new law, only one tank of fuel per drive in. Then I would be in the wrong.

he hit you ,,plane and simple ,,why ???,,if you had hit him you would done a lot better job than that ,,i drive a large trk and i have to back up lots of times i have backup hornes and flashing lights ,,i also get a safety bonus if i dont have an accident ,,,,,if dust gets in my eye and i see a doc i loose 1/2 my safety bonus,, thats bs,,, so if you pull in behind me and hit me im going to loose 1/2 my bonus ,,,, can you guess how far i am going to back up,,, yep all the way to the next curb
