Uhhhh...Hp is a measurement based on torque. What's the myth? I agree HP is not meaningless. My favorite ill informed myth: HP is meaningless and just a calculated number based on torque,
Since you need torque along with RPM to calculate HP, it does kinda matter. My favorite ill informed myth:...torque is the only measurement that matters.

I would love to see you apply 210 ft lb of torque with the radius of the crankshaft of the engine you are comparing yourself to. Personally, I can apply 1000 ft lbs of torque given a lever long enough.
Fact 1: You don't understand the meaning of torque.
Fact #1 Obviously, I couldn't figure out what you were trying to say!As I stated, it's my "favorite ill informed myth". I know it's incorrect and I know I'm not 3 times more powerful than my bike...
What's the myth?
That's the Myth.torque is the only measurement that matters.
That's the debunkFact 2: I can easily apply 210 ft-lbs of torque to a bolt using my own strength to pull on a torque wrench.
I think that's the non-sequitur as MM clearly gets it.Fact 1: You don't understand the meaning of torque.
I agree. The way it was said went over my head so early this morning.I think that's the non-sequitur as MM clearly gets it.
..
non-sequitur...
Did you know that an automotive airbag deployment is about the same time as it takes for the dragsters wheels to get 8,000 horsepower ???
Do dragsters have airbags :noidea: Ever hear a race car driver getting interviewed? DEFINITE airbag... LOL
Are all car engines more powerful than boat engines ??? Well I think they HAVE to be after reading that .... LOL
Yeah, that's a good one! (As I look at the picture in your signature line of a boat, uncovered, on the trailer, outside! )
..The obvious conclusion: I am clearly at least three times more powerful than my motorcycle.
I don't have any particular problem with any of these statements. If taken on face value, they are all true, with the possible exception of the dual prop thing.Figured I would start this thread because I see allot of people saying things that are just wrong.
Fuel injection produces more HP than carburetor
4.3MPI puts out 220HP VS 4.3TKS puts out 190HP
5.0MPI puts out 260HP VS 5.0TKS puts out 220HP
5.7MPI puts out 300HP VS 5.7TKS puts out 250H
Dual prop drives are slower not faster than single prop
SS is more durable then aluminium
When going from aluminium to SS go down a pitch
When going from three blade prop to 4 blade prop go down a pitch
