...to do this when he built his Ark! This is how it will be for the duration of this project. I might try tying the tarp to the roof rafter tails, of the garage, to get a little more ingress/egress clearance.

I have to finish installing the floor, tank installation, foaming, floor glassing, 'engine room' painting, vinyl floor laying and seat re-installation while slithering in and under this contraption.

I guess that is what I get for interupting this project to do the 'Sunbird' project earlier this summer. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Why don't you go buy one of those 10x20 shelters for a couple hundred bucks? All over the Puget Sound area...

'cause I already spent enough dough on this project. Actually, I just borrowed this one the morning before it started raining. I didn't want the cover getting wet because I'm going to have to keep folding it back. Costco has the ones you mention for $159.95. I'm going to take a closer look at them tomorrow.

Bro,

Ya should have got a bigger tarp.

I had the same problem once when I was re-doing my '68 model 21 footer.

I got the biggest 'el cheapo' tarp I could find.
I nailed it across the garage above the door, pulled the other end down and over the front of the boat. For the sides- I nailed one along the fence, and let the other hang.

When I set a kerosene blower heater inside the garage, and aimed at the rear of the boat,,,,,

The tent trapped most of the heat, and ventilation wasn't a problem,,,, it worked great.

Boomyal, I hope you've got that shelter screwed down. My buddy in Calgary used one of those temporary garages to store his boat and the wind lifted it with the railway ties attached and left it in a tree. He's using a CP Rail shipping container to store his boat now.

'taint anchored, CB. It's is only temporary so that I can attempt to get some additional work done inside of it. Supposed to be 50 deg and raining all week. Not to good for epoxy resin, foam an polyurethane paint. But if I don't get it done now, I'll be waiting for spring.

Good idea Maxi. Wish I'd thought of that earlier. Hmmm, let's see, an extra 10 inches times 3000 trips in and out of the boat~~~. :D

That'd be quite a savings Maxi. Go for it"

Boom, stick it in a shipping container and send it to Melbourne, Australia (you & your family can hide inside, the Indonesians do it all the time. :D ) Then you can teach me about fibreglassing and I'll teach you how to slow down your seamingly hectic life.

Warm to hot sunny days for the next 6 months, come on down!

Aldo

Aldo. I'm on the biggest ship you may have ever seen, but I think we'll swing by Australia in about 4 months. I can't teach you about fiberglass, but we can drink beer until it doesn't look so bad anymore. How many of us have been in that predicament. Boom, another fairly cheap method of building a quick shelter is to buy yourself some pipe and fittings. Build a box out of it, and you can build it to any size you want. We had one for camping once, and it worked like a charm. It'll keep the water off you, it's cost-efficient, and you won't have a broken back at the end of your project. Best of luck. I'm from Washington, and more than happy to avoid the rainy season. I've a boat to deal with when I get back, too. It's waiting on me like a nagging wife, though it's somewhat prettier than my last.

Yeah well Noah got his boat done BEFORE it started raining!!

Other than your timing ;) your project is coming along nicely, keep the posts coming. I could be wrong but I think Polyurethane products (foam) cure better in the presence of moisture...

You don't know how tempted I am DR. It was so ugly out today that my camera wouldn't even come out to take a picture of it.

You could build a hut over it by using 3/4" PVC piping and a tarp.Get some 20 sec pipe, arch it over, put tees at the bottom, and tie them together.Throw over one of those ply tarps over.
