ignition wiring

I have a 1998 30hp Johnson outboard. My repair manual only goes to 1990 and the ignition switch is slightly different. What wines go to the two MM's. I am guessing black and black with white trace.

Are you sure that wire is "Black/White? The kill circuit has always been "Black" and Black/Yellow".

One of the "M" terminals is usually a raised tower like terminal which the Black/Yellow wire would be attached to.

THe other regular "M" terminal would have the plain Black wire attached to it.

That is why you are admiral and I'm not. Black and black with yellow trace.
