I have changed out the power head on mariner motor
#675 l-31348 1976 I believe, the replacement is #308832
a 1981 I think? the flywheel and ignition parts are from the eariler model. To what year do I time the motor and what are the specs? My Seloc manual tells me the idle timming on 1977 motor is 5 deg. ATDC. And max timing wot 6 deg. BTDC (is that a typo)The specs on the 81 motor are idle 5 deg. ATDC and max wot at 22 deg. BTDC. Thats quite a difference for max timing. Thanks for any help in advance

Re: ignition timing?

john, sorry i've dug through all of our manuals and don't have one for your engine, if in your place I would go with the 81 specs and listen carefully for spark knock
