Re: Ignition swap

Does the 12v power supply wire hook to a constant power supply, or to a keyed power supply?

Re: Ignition swap

I am completely confused. The wiring on my shift interupt switch does not match that in the diagram. There are 2 wires coming out of it... a white with a green stripe, and a black. The white with a green stripe does not appear to hook to anything. The black goes into the wire loom and I can't follow it, but it appears to be grounded thru a little junction block that sits right beside the shift interupt switch?

If someone could Fischer Price this down for me, it would be greatly appreciated!!

Re: Ignition swap

Post a picture of your shift interrupt switch and shift plate. Look at the wiring diagram in the file I posted earlier on timing, You can see how the wiring will be.

Re: Ignition swap

After a little head scratching, I THINK I have it whipped.... I will find out tomorrow when I launch her!

It seems as if the shift interupt switch works alot like a regular house switch, and probably doesn't matter which way it is wired. I wired it with the white / green stripe to the black wire that plugs into the distributor, and the black wire to the keyed 12v power (pulled power from the existing purple choke wire) and I eliminated the little plastic/brass block that sat behind the shift interupt switch.

Hopefully it works, I have a weekend full of boating planned :)

I know this is an old thread.
I have done the Delphi EST swap, from T-4 system. I have put the w/g wire to the ignition relay solenoid, bl to bl at the new Dist. I think w/g wire should go to the purple wire, like Poohbair said. I noticed about every second to third shift into reverse it set the Circuit breaker off. That was not fun trying to figure the issue out, while on the Columbia river. But I had all my tools to do the final EST set up. Any help? TIA
