Ignition problem

I have a 1972 johnson 100 hp v-4 motor. Model# 100ELS72R, Serial# J3686041. I bought this motor from a man that said it was running one time and the next time he went to use it it didn't have any spark. I would like to isolate the problem and fix it. Does any one have any ideas. I can turn the motor over with the starter but no spark.<br /><br />Thank you,<br />Mike

Welcome to iboats Mike.<br />I wish I could say "replace the black chingoso and that'll fix it", but I can't. It can be one of several things and trying to cover all of 'em here just ain't practical. Your best bet is get a manual and use it to start troubleshootin' tha thing. <br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
