I have a 1990 bayliner capri 1850 with a mercruiser 5.0lx engine. I recently bought a new battery for the boat which has 2 batteries after hooking them up I went to turn on the ignition and the ignition fuse blew. I replaced the fuse took the boat out once with no issues, then again today and it decided to blow 3 fuses while on the lake today. First one while i was cruising at about 15 mph then while sitting i replaced two more that blew as soon as i turned the key over. I checked wires and found one pinched wire and fixed it but it was the power wire to the depth finder, im not sure that would make a difference. But then i replced the fuse for the 4th time and it started and ran fine until i could get it loaded. I tested the fuse box and power wire into the fuse box everything seems to be running around 12v.
I am not a fan of being stranded on the lake and would like any expertise and advice i could get on fixing this. Or any ideas what the problem may be.
