Booner:Every one gets a fish or two but there are a few that might have 6 lures and get all they can<br />The tackle box is a place to store your prizes.When the fish are not bitting ...it's something to do ( show and tell)Thats why we have many lures.Got spend your money some where why not LURES etc.<br /><br />Merry holidays to all,,,,Michael

In the Pac NW, spawn is the stuff male fish ejaculate over eggs to make babies. <br /><br />Probably the same as in Michigan: we use eggs (pronounced "aigs"), preserved in a borax/suger mix. Take a gob o'eggs about the size of a walnut, use a egg loop on a #2-0 Siwash hook and a 14" leader tied to a snap swivel. Use surgical tubing stuck through the snap to hold pencil lead, or use a slinky. Bounce along the bottom of the river or crick.<br /><br />I always use yarn (usually pink, fluoresent green or orange) on the bottom of the loop. Someone told me once that it snags the fish's teeth just enough to set the hook. Like all fishing lore, who'd argue?

Skien, Roe, Eggs, Spawn, whatever.. just curious. Yep use the same yarn on the hook and tubing w/pencil led myself. Actuall I snell my hooks and loop the skein through the line.(fresh cut or river cured) No borax ever!
