I just purchased a 1997 Envinrude 150hp Intruder
it seems to be idling too high....it runs at 3 - 4 mph
when just in gear....is this too high ? if so is there a
way that this can be lowered bye a "novice" ?

Re: idle too high

I don't have the idle rpm's for your engine.

But ,what you set the idle at, is rpm's not mph.

Way too many variables , doing it by mph.

Someone , will post the info. you need , surely.

Wouldn't hurt to get a manual, just for reference, if nothing else.

Re: idle too high

If memory serves it should be between 650 and 750 rpms in the water. Might be 800 but do a search using the search feature (if it is working since the upgrade) on idle rpms.
