Idle / Slow speed timing advancement screw missing?

Hi,

The seloc manual and two other sources including a mechanic, has suggested the slow speed adjustment screw to me but I can't find it under the fly wheel on the port side side, all I see is the blue cdi electronics timer base. There is simply no screw in the spot I am seeing on other sources, I can find the WOT advancement screw but not the one mentioned. What is going on here? Is it because it is aftermarket? and how does aftermarket justify removing that functionality?
(Motor model: BE60TLEUA / 1997 60hp evinrude 3 cylinder.

Thanks

There is no adjusting screw on the PORT side of this motor.-----Starboard side is where you look.----These things do not go out of adjustment.----So what is your motor doing / not doing.----What trouble shooting can you do.-----Start with posting the actual compression test values.

Correction - I mean starboard, my apologies.

Compression was apparently good as tested by a mechanic but I wasn't told the exact values.

The motors just not idling at the moment, it was not long ago (has always been a little rough) and im not exactly sure what was the queue for spoiling the idle, but I feel like it was on queue with me readjusting the throttle linkages & idle stop screw to try bring the idle speed up.

Spark is good, apparently has a new cdi (prev owner fried it with battery charger), carbs are cleaned, vro pump rebuilt, fuel starvation problem has been fixed. So this is why im now looking at timing stuff

The other two things a mechanic told me to consider were reed valves and some kind of air leak after the pump

Sorry ---You should post the actual compression values.-----After that other meaningful steps to take will follow.----Perhaps a cylinder sleeve has rotated.---That could be found with inspection camera or removing the cylinder head.----Do you install a new impeller every 5 years or so ?

I just bought the boat at the end of last year off of someone. They said they had it serviced, I had a mechanic put in a new impeller and clean out the carburetors towards the end of last year as well and they checked compression. I'll look at doing another check if I can borrow a gauge off a mate.

I just found that if i ground out the white/black wire off the cdi that goes to the temp sender switch it stalls in seconds. Which seems to tie in with what I should have mentioned, it idles for like ~5 minutes before it stalls, it's not immediately. Perhaps the temp sender is grounding the warm-up / quick start circuit and then it dies?

Other thing I mentioned is I was actually able to prevent it from dying between my idle speed & carburetor mixture screws, but its like it drops a cylinder, it just goes really sluggish but it'll stay on.

Is the cdi's warm-up activation causing a cylinder to drop?

Nevermind that, I don't think a cylinder is dropping, it just drops too much on revs and goes really sluggish altogether I think

Going to try new spark plug leads because I'm convinced it's an electrical problem and my spark plug leads shock me if I touch them while running

Wires shouldn't shock you unless you stick your finger in the hole or something not that I ever give it the chance.

Run it in the dark and watch how it behaves.

I've not seen any sparks flying around watching it at night but perhaps it hasn't been dark enough.

Still waiting for new wires to arrive in mail

Take some rubber handled pliers and move the wire near any metal part of the outboard.

If it's bad it will spark.
