idle exceleration

just got a basstracker boat with evenrude tracker 60 hp engine both 1993 models cant find fast idle leaver wondering if it came with hotfoot wouldn't thank so but could be is there a way to warm engine am i overlooking something thanks

Where are you looking? I've seen 4 different types of fast idles, if you are only used to seeing one the rest are a little tricky... By your comment I'm guessing you might be used to 1) below. That is the only one with a lever, the rest just disengage the shifting mechanism one way or another, and use the main throttle.


1) actual fast idle lever (older mercs, ended in 70's/early 80's maybe?)

2) pull the base of the shifter lever straight OUT and then push forward (newer mercs plus lots of others)

3) push the rubber 'button' in the base of the shift lever IN, and then push the shifter forward, (yamaha)

4) a small silver knob behind the throttle that you pull out, and then use the main throttle. (merc sportjet, some larger outboards, some I/O's)

much thanks this thing 93 modle 60 hp tracker has nothing even similer to anything i know about but i will figure it out i hope had biger boats earler in my life of course they were 80's modles and the ranger i also have now has a hotfoot on 150 johnson there is also something else i cant find anything anyone is sure of and that is how to seal the bottom seam of an aluminum boat the tracker this engine is on just got it and hope these things can be corrected the fast idle can make work if need be remove the engine cover but if you are anyone knows of a sealer that will work thanks i have tryed several might post anothher question as to this Thanks again
