Re: Identify this boat?

I don't know about that boat, but Oday did make a 16' center console. I almost bought one, and also was surprised to find that Oday made boats other than sailboats.

Here's a link to a guy who has a 16' Oday CC, about halfway down the page.

Research I did led me to believe it was fairly comparable to a Boston Whaler.

http://www.iheartodays.com/bwl_index.html

Actually, here's a better link, with specs for the Oday Legend 160, 175, and 195 boats.

http://www.iheartodays.com/model_legend.html

If you click on the brochure photos, you'll get a non-legible bigger image of that brochure page.

If you right-click the photo, and 'save-as', you may have better luck getting a legible brochure page image.

I vaguely recall in my research that Oday had some 'side projects' or 'experiments' or 'forays testing the waters' with motor-powered boats.
I considered this good news, as I assumed that they paid a bit closer attention to the construction of these rare motor-powered boat 'experiments'.
(Unfortunately, the 70's or 80's boat I was looking at had soft deck areas, due to MANY unsealed holes drilled for after-market junk)

Re: Identify this boat?

This boat the owner said he took out the floors so he could remove all the saturated foam that was under the floor. He said the boat was so heavy and that was the reason. I can't seem to find anything about a 60-70s O day runabout. I'll get more info from the tag in the boat and do an update. It looks like a nice V hull and they put pretty thick glass back then. He said there are no cracks at the stress points of the transom either, which is surprising. But there is some type of patch on the outside of the transom i see in the pics. He said it was there when he got it and whoever did it did a good job so we'll see.

Re: Identify this boat? Update

Update: The tag says Marscot Plastics / Oday from fall river Ma. It was owned by Palmer Scott. He merged with Oday And the # on it is 2257. I still can't find any runabout info on it. It's all about sailboats. It looks like a nice wide stable deep V hull though. Will be a good project. I also accuired a 18' Chriscraft Sea Skiff (fiberglass) the first fiberglass boats Chriss Craft Built. There were only 70 hulls made during 1966 and 67 I have hull# 36. Has the Buick 155 V-6 with the stringer OMC. The motor runs great. Was a fresh water boat.
