Re: Identify Engine?

o.k., thanks for the heads up. I emptied the Stern drive oil and I tried to refill thru the drain/add hole on bottom and the vent screw was out. I am pumping and then at about halfway, the tube come out from the pump and oil is coming out. I connected back to the pump (basic pump that you screw on to the oil container). I have oil all over my hands and I ask my friend to cover the vent(hoping that it would stop the flow and i can clean hands. He uncovers the vent and I start to pump and after a little bit. Then it quickly gets to the point that I cant pump anymore and there is no oil coming out of the top vent? What am i missing?

When I look on the service manual, am I looking at the Mercruiser 120?

Re: Identify Engine?

The EZ-shift drives have no oil passage between upper and lower. Each have it's own fill and vent screw. If you are filling the lower housing, make sure you have the lower housing vent screw out.

No wonder :) I am so confused.... I checked the manual and it says to fill from the bottom and It does not point out a bottom vent? I am working off of the right Model description?

The 'flushing hole' is for water flushing, not oil flushing... ;)

It looks like I am missing the Flushing screw. Any idea on what it is for?

Water flushing? I thought that was done thru the water intake oppening?
