Identifing 4 cly Force Lower Unit

Hi,<br /><br />I have this large Force lower unit. All I know is that it is good and it is from a 4 cyl. How can I figure out what HP's and years it goes to? Are there any numbers on these. This is a pretty large unit.

Can anyone tell by looking at this picture what years and HP this Force lower unit will fit, all I know its for a 4 cylinder

Does it have "dual" exhaust?<br />That is, exhaust exits thru the snout behind the prop, and also thru the center of the prop?<br /><br />Also, how long is the driveshaft?<br /><br />HArd to tell from the photo, but assuming the driveshaft is approximately 22 inches long, and the exhaust exits only thru the exhaust snout behind and above the propeller, then it should fit 85hp and 125hp motors, 1984-1989.

Okay here are some more details:<br /><br />Drive shaft length is 28" Dia = 13/16<br />Looks like it only exhaust through the thingy in the rear of the cavitation plate and not through the prop.<br />Total length of cavitation from rear to front = 26"<br /><br />What else can I tell you, can we narrow this down to years and HP it will fit?<br /><br />Just saw one go for more the $300 on Ebay looks just like this, if anyone wants this one I'll let it go for half that.

60hp, 85hp, and 125hp motors, 1984-1989.<br /><br />The 90, 120, and 150hp motors used a 2 piece driveshaft according to all my books, you have a 1 piece driveshaft.

As it turns out I have a 1989 force 125 that needs a lower unit.... I will take a look at the one the repair shop took off to see if this one looks similar.. Do you still have it?

I'm going with 1989 125HP longshaft engine for fishon's picture. <br />To my knowledge that was the only year that combined the slanted skeg with the single piece draveshaft. 1988 and earlier had a straight back edge on the skeg. 1990 and later had a split driveshaft with coupling. It could also be a very late 1988. Very, very late. My engines were made 10/88 and have straight skeg.
