Identifacation numbers - help!

How do I identify my 50hp force without the identity plate (Its missing on the transom- should have been riveted on!). I need to get a bottom end seal kit, and i can't identify it! Help!

Best narrowed down by id ing the ignition system.

But as far as lower units, they are all the same from 1984-1994, 40n and 50 hp.

1995 and later used a different lower unit.

I don't know if this will help, but I know that on my 85 hp I had to take the cover off the motor and find the id plate located just under the carburator because I didn't have an id plate on my transom. I couldn't see it until I wiped the area.
