Hello! My 2001 Crownline with 5.7 GXI fuel injected recently began having a slightly elevated idle after warm up. It’s intermittent and usually returns to normal idle after cycling off for a bit while we swim. I’m trying to replace the IAC but am having an awful time finding the GM replacement. I ordered an aftermarket from China but it looks visibly different and I don’t trust it. The plunger isn’t the same shape at all. How can I find a decent, dependable replacement IAC? What years were these used in GM motors?IMG_0155.jpeg

Welcome to iBoats . . .

Got any numbers off the original IAC? Those can be helpful in matching to the correct part.

The GXI-J is listed as 3843750
The china one looks like the newer design GM

My notes for Merc list
Merc 805224A1
Walker 215-1026
BWD 21775 and Felpro gasket 17852
GM 17113598

Mine has the GXI-B which for some reason is excluded from many of the common IACs, including the one I purchased. (Just figured that out). Perhaps it could still work, but it isn’t on the list of compatible engines.

Another reason VP is the worst, great so long as it doesn't break. Cost is higher and when parts go NLA they remove the old part number so not even easy to find replacement. It may not be on the list of compatible because the part number was removed

I believe I finally found the part number. It appears to be 3855194 for the GXI-B. The majority of the other 5.7s take the 3843750, but not the B. Local Napa store has it for $125 and it looks identical, which is more than the 3843750 had.
