I have NEVER used any STABIL or other snake oil either. I just don't think it's needed for a 6 month layup.......

Well then you sir must have better gas there than we have here. A couple years ago I forgot to put stabil in my snowmobiles after the riding season was over. Went to fire them up the following winter and they would not start on the old gas. They would run on the old gas but they wouldn't cold start on it. Had to get them started on fresh gas, then switch over and burn the old gas. But then 2-strokes tend to be more sensitive to this from my experience. My quads started up just fine on old fuel.

I doubt it....... but I don't have any 2-stroke engines here either!
