Well I have put up both boats for until at least december when we are going to try our luck at a tournament, but todays weather is too tempting, gonna be in the 60s today and I just cant resist. Heading out to try our luck at the local Basshole. Sorry dont mean to rub it in, I;m just not ready to give up yet.<br /><br />Matt

Like I have said before, I never winterize my boat cause I don't know when/where I will get a wild hair to go.<br /><br />Might be Rodman Reservoir in Florida, Lake Fork in Texas, just never know, so I just keep the engine drained good and keep the boat in the garage at the ready.

Hey it might be cold,but the cod are going crazy.<br />This weekend it is the water off Plum Island for me.And just in case the fish won't keep me hot.The good Captain Morgan will keep me company.

We just (Oct-Nov) took a 2-week train trip through Canada (my wife is wacko about trains) and so I missed out on some great silvers, or so my fishing "buddies" tell me. <br />Anyway, I was interested to see a couple of guys fishing on one of the bazillion lakes in Ontario (near the Manitoba border, I think...I was busy drinking champagne and watching the snow fall). They were bundled up in what looked like snow suits but were hard at it. Might have been Steam Mill and his buddy...that's dedication!<br />So I get back home and there's no more salmon going over the dams. So I'm finished on the Columbia for a while (boat needs annual maintenance anyway), will start drifting the smaller rivers for steelhead.<br />All this and WSU football too! Go Cougs!

Here in north Texas winter is pretty mild , except for the occasional snow flurry,sleet or the surprise of an ice storm like we got last winter, the fishing goes on. I never winterize, i'm on the lake at least three times a week which is only about nine and a half miles away.

Plum Island was good to me on this gorgeous November day.<br />17 cod, 12 mackerels,and watching the seals and mink whales loafing around.<br />Ahh life is good.

Capn Mike...Wasn't me on the Manitoba border. Would love to get up there some time. Ice fishing season is soon to start up.<br /><br />Got a new fish finder off ebay for ice fishing. Went up last week to our country property to wish our neighbours a happy holiday season and my retired neighbour runs over with a jar full of jigs he made and painted for ice fishing.<br /><br />We will be going out in February. He's going to Arruba in mid January and I'm going on a cruise in the end of January.<br /><br />Ice fishing here we come..

I am going ice fishing on the 26th. We have about 6" of ice on the crappie pond, so hopefully we'll catch a few slabs and have a fish fry friday

Where you goin' to be crappie fishin'...<br /><br />We'll be heading to our place on Livingston Thursday and there are tons of crappie our way.<br /><br />Last weekend we loaded up on catfish, so now need to fill up on crappie too!<br /><br />Good Fishin'

On Lake Conroe. We got 14 (I got 11). Another fellow limited out at 9:30 AM. Now, I need to fix my boat. I thought I would limit out today, but did not get the boat started.
