No need to send 835257K1 back it is the same part, Just in a different box is all. The (K) should be in a black box, And that is MerCruisers newer brand with their name on it, And the old way was (Q) for Quicksilver, They are the same exact parts. And below you can see your (A) has now Superceded to (Q).
Part Number 835257Q1 Superceded From 835257A1 And The (K) box will stand a lone sometimes when looking things up.
Also some parts suppliers will now start sending the (K) box from MerCruiser when they run out of (Q) and (A).
MerCruiser dealers have a choice when ordering from MerCruiser They can go with either the Quicksilver or MerCruiser style boxes to display in their ShowRoom. So your good to go boating still.
