That was a huge project to design, build, and install the engine bracket. It’s a big accomplishment by itself then add in the upholestry work and other odd household jobs and it’s significant accomplishment.

I've followed your entire thread, fascinated by it.
Curious...What's an estimate of constructing something like that for an every day guy. Just the addition, no motor removal or re-power.
Must include the experts' labor for checking your numbers that you consulted, your time and labor, and your materials....if it's even possible.

I've been asked that by others as well . . .

My materials, supplies, and tooling were about $12K. The Navel Architect was $5K . . .

My time invested is about 400-450 hours.

I would guess a shop would charge $30-40K, as it would basically be an extension and not a stand-alone bracket.

That hour estimate is in line with what I logged for my restoration. Granted that was just putting everything back as it was. Per a friend who does that type of stuff for a living, thats in line with what he'd charge.

no...was curious what it would run if a non DIY'r said he wants to convert from an IO to outboards and needed to construct that extension motor platform.

An aluminum pod would have been a bit less, but would only be glued and screwed, no glassing them together
