I/O recommendations

I have always had outboards. I am considering purchasing a used I/O bow rider or cuddy for pleasure use. What should I shy away from, I know that OMC are not good because of the parts issue, but which Mercruiser and Volvos?

Ayuh,.... No OMCs,... No Yamahas,... No 470 Mercs....

Other than that,... Whatever you can find Parts, 'n Service for in your boatin' areas....
