i think about it in the way that i think its easier to get the outboard serviced.. our auto mechanic has 2 boats both inboards.. he says its just like having 2 more cars when it comes to working on the engines.. lucky for me my dads buddy knows how to repair our outboards for a couple beers... i think the outboards deff gunna be louder but you gotta expect that.

Closest thing I'm familiar with that has that kind of power is a 30' Baja with twin stock 496 I/O's. 425 HP each. At 30 MPH (about 28 kts) it burns 22 GPH. Best cruise is 45 MPH (3000 RPM - sounds like it's idling along) where it's burning 25 GPH.



It might be able to handle that. Tops out about 70 MPH (60 kts).

We're comparing apples to oranges. That boat weighs 6,900 lbs and has a 8'-6" beam. The boat I'm talking about is an Express Crusier. Its 3? longer, weighs 3 times as much and has a 13' beam at midship.

If you want a little better performance you can always jump up and get the optional triple F350s put on the back.

Guess it depends on the woman! Most women I know don't have the slightest idea how much a boat costs, they just want to spend a day laying out in the sun. Generally the plush I/O cruisers are more attractive to them than the all-fiberglass fishing machines.

Different leagues, different games. Around here you generally don't find too many plush I/O cruisers. The ones you do see look out of place and usally have the ?two wild and crazy guys" at the helm.

You'll see more of the Express and ?luxury? type fishing boats than anything else. Big Sail boats also seem to pack in the females.
