I/O lost power

last summer we lost almost all the drive after clipping the prop on the ground the outing before

is it possible this could be a problem with the lower unit or is it the drive coupler?

im new to boats so any help would be grate no matter how obvious you think it is

its an erly lower unit with a preload pin on the top in a 1969 searay svt 170 mercruiser I6 if that helps

If you dont have a manual you can download one in the Adults Only section on the main page. Coupler, upper gearset, lower driveshaft, lower unit gearset are all suspect.

im hopeing it is i dont want to instal the new to me lower unit if it wonat be that i read something erlyer on a websight that got me panaking so im hopeing it is the lower unit
