Ring a company that fits tow bars they will be able to tell you what the maximum weight you can tow with your vehicle

I tried to look this up online and could not find the towing capacity. There should be a towing capacity chart in your owners manual that will list the different suspension, motor, gear ratio combinations and show all the towing capacities for each combo. Are you sure you don't have a posi? GM gov-lock systems give the impression of no posi to the person who doesn't know how they work.

Truck prolly has a class III hitch from the factory, rated at 5K total and 500lbs tongue weight. You'll have to step up to a Class IV to get the full potential out of it or use a weight distributing setup. Then you just need the gross weight of the boat and trailer you intend to pull to see if it falls in those guidelines.

Max payload is NOT 7400. GVWR is gross vehicle weight rating which is the total weight of the vehicle plus it's load. You have a load capacity of about 2000# but that is also NOT your trailer towing capacity. That will be somewhere in the 5000# range.

you need to look in your manual for tow capacity.... If you can't find it a call to your local dealer will quickly get you the info... as for a "real world example" If you are asking what I think you are that isn't a question that can be accurately answered... If you want someone to say that you can tow a boat that is up too XX feet long you are missing the point.... one 23' boat might be 5000 lbs and another might be 2500 lbs....
as for nitto's limited slip and plus or minus 15 hp and 20 ft lbs..... none of that matters for tow capacity unless you chose to buy nittos that didn't have a heavy enough load rating for the truck and what you were doing with it.

Sooooo first is to find towing capacity and second is to get the boat weighed (about $7.00 at a truck stop) that you want to tow..... very simple
