I need help with the top coat

I have a bass boat the hull looks almost new but the all around the top is blistering and pealing I would like to know what to use if I sand it down and clear coat with a clear ? not sure what to use thanks to all that can help

Welcome to iboats!

I have seen people paint the topside and I have seen people use automotive clear coat on topside rails too. 99% of the results are in the prep work.

As another alternative you could even re-apply gel coat instead of paint.

Regular automotive clear coat, you can but RTS (Ready to spray) clear of and quality clear. It will take a few coats.

picture would be good to see. I would imagine that if it is blistered and peeled and it's only the clear, then it's been painted already and someone did a crappy job with the prep work... strip it, degrease it until you can't any more, rough it up with 320, degrease it again and shoot it (or have it done) with good quality two part automotive clear coat.
