I'm getting ready to install my Nautolex flooring and I do not have the glue yet. The vendor that I bought the material from was not a lot of help, plus they said they could not even ship the stuff they had.

They said that some kind of contact cement was the only thing that they knew about. That would be a total mess trying to lay a 6 foot wide by 11 foot long piece of vinyl. I need a suitable glue that would allow the material to be moved around abit, once laid, not to mention one that would allow the working out of air pockets.

I even tried to find the Manufacturer of Nautolex but was unable to do so.

Any thoughts? Brands? etc?

Your powers of 'search' are without peer Ralph! :D Thanks. I tried numerous times and came up with only a few vendors, none of which ever spoke of glue or installation pamplets. Thanks.

It's interesting that you didn't like the Nautolex. It wore exceptionally well. I'm going to try for my second 30 years with the stuff, albeit a little more modern shade. The first go around produced many a nubile foot print on it. I hated to rip it out and throw it away. It served me well and had lots of memories associated with it.

Well Boom I was always working on the boat (almost truly done now though) and it was really tough to keep clean. Then the edges and seams started to lift on me and I began to really hate it.

Then I finally realized I was foolish to put it down in the first place. The deck is finished gelcoated so I ripped it up and just painted the deck with topside paint and added some no-skid and it's been great.

this is how it looks now:
Fortunately, Ralph, my circumstance are slightly different than yours. The edges of my flooring remain unglued. The flooring slides up under the side panels of the gunwales. The front and rear also disappear under a panel or the motor cover.

As to working in the boat, once I lay my flooring the only work I will do is PLAY work! :D
