I have one ordered, but in the meantime. Need a bit of help once again. When we go to start it we have to prime the carbs with a squirt bottle. Squeeze the primer bulb till it gets hard but still have to prime with gas mixture by squirting with squirt bottle. 73 johnson 115 thanks

Beware: My advice could be worthless <br /><br />But a couple things come to mind: Dirty carb(s), or faulty choke/choke in wrong position.<br /><br />Also, is your fuel fresh?

Do you mean that the carb bowls are not filling up with fuel?

Are you using choke in starting attempts and is choke working properly? Cold starts always need it. Squirt bottle should not be necessary.

Also, whats you're compression?Ignition output good cold?How about that timing?Crappy fuel?This old girl had both low and high compression headgaskets you know and which do you have?That can make a big differance in how you start.Are you running the right plugs?Running decent oil?

activate the chock and look at the chock byterfly and see if they are closing all the way .they have to be closed compleatley while turning the engin over till it cranks . papasage
