Today I decided it was time to store my 14' Starcraft (which I actually gave to my Son this year but it is still at my house!!!!). I have had it parked up in the top of the yard but it needed to be moved and flipped over for the winter.
I had my ATV out so I thought it would be a good idea to tow it. I lowered the trailer tongue and I was hooking it up to the ball on the ATV...... I was only going to move it an additional 20' uphill (yes my yard has quite a slope) and I did NOT check to see if it was secured......... YUP you guessed right  it became detached and down the hill it went
Well it was about 200' to the road which was my first thought but nope it veered off and headed for the small creek.........
Over the embankment it went crashing into the creek ....... about a 5' drop off
Well...... I used my trusty warn winch on the ATV and dragged it back up the bank........ Just as the trailer was fully up the bank ........ the boat winch let go and the boat went back down the embankment.
After recovering the trailer and then the boat I moved it to my new location.
Not a fun job to do alone...... the only thing that was harmed was a smashed tail light which I will replace in the spring. The boat was not even dented.
I am now a proud member of the CheapboatKev club.
