About twenty years ago, here in this province they tried "double daylight savings time" and changed the clocks by 2 hours. Now that was really screwed up!

How come New Foundland is half an hour different? What does DST do to them?

I guess its because we are farther east and fall into a different time zone......its still an hour change for DST same as anywhere.

"Be prepared to "fall back" early Sunday morning, as people across the United States gain an hour of sleep with the end of daylight saving time.
The switch happens Nov. 6 at 2 a.m. local daylight time. Most devices connected wirelessly to the internet will automatically "fall back" to 1 a.m. local standard time, but don't forget to change any clocks that need a manual change, such as a wall or microwave clock."

I think I have all the clocks changed now except the Ford Ranger clock. I had my shop clock stop. Seems it wanted a new battery. And odd how you don't think about such clocks and how much you look at then until they are not working. A new battery and reset time fixed it right up again. I actually judge if I want to start on something via the time remaining for the day. So even that shop "Saw-blade" clock needs to work correctly. But resetting all the other clocks gets interesting. You don't think you have that many clocks until you have to change the time on all of them.

The advantage of being retired is you can somewhat create your own daylight savings. IMO they have it backwards.....in the fall you should move the clock AHEAD one more hour!

This is "standard time" We just got through with Daylight Savings time. They do this in part so kids don't have to wait for the bus in the dark. Daylight savings time was put in place in part to save electricity

One would think that since conserving energy is a big issue these days, DST would be an easy 1st step to accomplish their goal....
