When I bought my boat from the dealer, he recommended a transom lock. He installed the lock, never gave me the key, I've asked several times until finally he said I must pay to have it removed. I have a welder, MacGyver, you got any tried and true methods?

What's funny is I bought the boat in December, asked for the key, he said it was in the boat glove compartment, the boat was wrapped up for the winter, Come spring, I get inside the boat, no key. So that fall, I hit a wing dam in a slough off the Mississippi, so my insurance says bring it back to the dealer, they will put on a new outdrive. Great, by the time he finishes the boat, its winter, they wrap the boat, back into storage it goes. I ask for key, its in the glove compartment. I wait till spring, No key. I call, and now he doesn't remember. I'd rather stick needles in my nads then deal with this guy again.......

THANKS! I'm going the cheap easy route, looks like I can eyeball the key needed, I was going to put welds on it, then hammer a socket on, wrench it off.
Thanks again and again.

P.S. Years ago I bought a 1973 Police Interceptor Dodge Polaris, 440 with a Carter Thermo-Quad and a wrecked 1966 Imperial lebaron, used the interior and other parts for the Polaris. Best car I ever had. MoPar or NoCar

Dad had one of those ex-cop cars from years ago, would pass everything but a gas station. Sounded real good

I picked it up at the Mt Prospect city police auction last spring. It's an old Mt. Prospect police car. They were practically giving 'em away.
