I have bought a boat for The kids to practice on,,Does anyone know anything about it ? Hint ... Its 12' -6" LOA and 53" wide ,aluminum , the motor and trailer date to 1979

You ask for identification. The ID plate on the boat says it was built by ALUMINUM BOATS and the model is SKIPPER. It is rated for a 28HP outboard and weighs 755lb or maybe that means it is rated for a 755lb load.

What more, exactly, do you want to know??

Pretty little boat. Nice rig for the kids to learn boating with.

that's a cool little boat--hope the kids respect it. I'd remove the bimini before they do the hard way. Looks bigger than 12/6 and older than 1979. If it has "rope" steering be sure the cables are sound.

what HP is on it? 28 would fly!

The boat came with a 35 evinrude with the rope/ clothes line steering , but after the first run I may be reducing it to a 9.9. I'm in the process of replacing the ply at the transom.

good call. i'd be inclined to keep the "rope" steering b'c it's original although the tube/cable is safer. Plastic-covered cable works; don't use cotton clothesline.

Back then pleasure craft sold in Canada had to comply with DOT #113287. Now it is TP1332E http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/marinesafety/tp-tp1332-menu-521.htm
