Weather people, no rain predicted today or for the next few days, so now I sit here with the winch post taken off the trailer and no fenders installed, seats not installed and it is raining cats and dogs!

No boating for me and the wife on the 4th of July! I am always wrong and nobody pays me when I am wrong!

10% chance of rain yesterday ... ended up with driving rain, high winds, hail, trees and powerlines down, flash flooding, 30 miles away they got 3.9 inches of rain in 20 minutes! They nailed that forecast perfectly!:facepalm:

And then everything is a superlative ... When they are right that a mega storm is coming, no one believes them and they wonder why. Quit trying to sell and just tell the truth ...

One of my favorite sayings: "The weatherman lies." Too many times have their predictions been far from what actually happens.

Once, I took my little 14' jon boat out night fishing on a BIG lake, it was supposed to be no wind, no breeze, dead calm. Around midnight I hear what sounds like a freight train rolling up the lake and the 20-30mph winds hit, then the 2-3' waves, and it keeps blowing for a couple hours. Nothing to do but sit it out in a cove until the wind died out and the waves settled. (This is one of my many experiences of "The weatherman lying".)

The are called weathermen because they don't know "weather" its going to rain or not....

For us in Central AL, its been horrible. Days with the heat index close to 100, then pop up gully-washers that last 15 minutes, sun comes back out with a vengeance, humidity goes up so high you have to have gills to breathe, then after 2 hours the sky has absorbed more than it can take and another 15 minute rain storm. I'm working on my boat outside and am constantly " cover it up! ok its over, wait... cover it back up! ok, now lets work, quick cover it up!"

Hate is a very strong word. I tend to use it in special circumstances otherwise it looses it's real meaning. I save it for Politicians here as well as International. I'm an equal opportunity Hater.

Nope, 20+ years of living in Montana and being foiled by the weather guys, hate is the correct word!

For us in Central AL,

I was born and raised in Tuscaloosa....Welcome to Iboats...:thumb:

Here in west central Florida I tend to ignore the weather "person" ( being politically correct here ) I Know for a FACT either it will rain or it will not so it is a 50 - 50 chance everyday...:rain:

If only the weather person could do something about this 100 degree heat index with around 80% humidity...:hail:

Today I had a fish swim through the air in front on my face, turned and looked at me and said “ ya know, its not the heat, its the humidity.....”

I trust a weather rock more than the weatherguy. I will watch some weathergirls though. Florida has the sexiest. Why does Spell Check underline weatherguy but not weathergirl?

weatherguy is not a recognized word and weathergirl is now if you type weatherman you should be good to go, or do like I do, just add to the dictionary.

I rely on my wife. For some reason she has this sixth sense when it comes to weather. No...really...she's right 99% of the time. Maybe she should have been a "waeathergirl"!
In my days of commuting to work by motorcycle from Staten Island to Manhattan for some 20 years, she would be my guide on whether to ride or not on any particular day, This includes all four seasons. Yeah, I would ride in the winter too, as long as it wasn't snowing. Got caught in a some flurries a few times, but made it home.
