Re: i almost died
A couple of years ago, on my way up to visit family in the land of snow and ice I lost control on black ice on I-69 in Indiana. It was my son and I in the car at night. Weather conditions were "wintery" but not anything I would have considered bad. I was slowed down somewhere in the 50's MPH and all of a sudden I was sideways. (BTW - to all you folks in Indiana: I think half the state stopped by to make sure we were okay and had a tow truck coming to help out. Thanks for the hospitality!) Scared the daylights out of me, 'cause I was driving my Mercury Mountaineer (Ford Explorer) ... the famous roll-over vehicle.
I grew up driving on snow and ice. I lived for 27 years in Michigan, and used to drive rear wheel drive stick shift cars from the 80's. I know how to drive on slick stuff. Every trick I ever learned for dealing with a skid hit immediately. I didn't touch the brakes, turned into the skid to correct, eased off the gas smoothly, etc, etc ... Spun out anyway and went right off the road. No real damage except to my underwear

Much like for you, God was in far more control than I was.
You've gotten good advice to practice a little with your car, and to watch when you "experiment" some. Take that advice and learn from the error you've made.
Continue to thank God above for keeping you.
And realize that every once in a while ... stuff happens. Don't let it eat you up too much. Learn from it.
