Hydraulic Steering Failure Help

Have 150 hp Yamaha outboard on Hurricane 22 foot deck boat with hydraulic steering. Boat is fairly new with about 25 hours on it.

Steering completely failed. I can turn the wheel forever in either direction and outboard does not turn at all.

Any idea of potebntial causes for this ?

Is there anything that I ( a newbee ) can do to diagnose and or fix this ?

First I would check to ensure that it is hooked up under the dash to the wheel housing. It moght be possible that it just came loose.

Beyond that, I have no clue. How old is the boat. Only 25 hours, would it still be under warranty...

My Hurricane 237 sun deck has same problem. Free wheeling without engine moving. Where is helm pump? Thanks
