Hydraulic leak on trim hose

Hey all, I just pulled out of the lake to find I’ve sprung a pin hole leak in one of my hydraulic lines for my trim. I have a 2001 Crownline 225br with the 5.7GXI and VP out drive. Can I replace this hose without removing the lower unit? What’s an average shop cost for this repair?

Each shop charges a different rate. You will have to get estimates

Westin,
I posed this same question a couple of months ago. It’s possible, depending. Depending on the amount of corrosion and type of drive. For an SX-M drive, which I have, I was successful in doing this, see post at this link. One key aspect was the specialty socket I was able to get (info in the post on that). Further complicating was I needed to ‘clean up’ the threads in the manifold block which was also a challenge. But was able to do it with a ‘thread chaser’ tool and some ball/socket 3/8” drives.

You did an excellent write up! I have the DP-SM drive but I believe it’s similar to your setup based on your pictures. Still searching to confirm the part number.

Go to volvopentastore.com. look at the parts breakdown.

You can order from there too as it is hosted by iBoats
