Hurricans and their names?

Hey all<br />Mrs.Link and I were driving over to her moms the other day and she asked where they got the names for hurricans?<br />I replied that it couldn't be by the media because Florida would have been hit by Bush1, Bush2, Bush3 etc. :D <br />After the usual dirty look from her when I bring up politics, I said I thought it was from who spotted them first and they got to pick the name.<br /><br />Does anyone know the answer?<br /><br />I told her I would ask then forgot. Tonight she asked me if I'd found out who named Bush one, two and three :rolleyes: <br /><br />Thanks

12Footer <br />Thanks<br />Thats what Mrs.Link thought. Except that she thought they started with A's then went to B's after they ran out of names. And her second question was ofcourse how many times have they went through the alphabet? This makes since and thanks again for answering a "Silly post" ;)

Any nation can petition to have a name of a particularly severe or destructive hurrican retired. <br /><br />It is likely that after this year Jeanne, for instance, will be retired from the rotation.<br /><br />Jinx
