All safe here. Lost a few roof shingles, but that's about it. No biggie.

Winds were 50-70mph. It's an old roof, so when we replace it (later), we'll upgrade to the new metal shingles. 🙃

My best friend of 50 years is in Cape Coral.
He sent me pics yesterday mid morning and the storm sure was already flooding the neighborhood. But the sun was out and little rain at that point.

I'm in Central FL- barley hot any rain, had some strong wind late evening but that's about it. They were predicting much higher wind but it just did not happen.

Scott did you have any flooding? Snead not even a branch down.
Nothing here

Co-worker had 2 feet of water (river front in parish)

AMI and St Armands still have flooding. St Pete/Clearwater barrier islands are still a mess

Looking online at the damage in the Carolinas as well as eastern TN. ( Nothing on local cable news). Heart goes out to those impacted

I’m sure it nothing like what I remember.
It used to be a great spot for fishing for snook in the mangroves and kids partying at night without getting caught.

Man, Helene has done such incredible damage through the south. NC, SC, TN and KY all hurting. Virginia too.

On the news this morning I saw the sheriff from the county where Asheville, NC is and he stated that there are over 1,000 people unaccounted for in the county. Could be from lack of communications or just gone.

The weather channel is showing a Wendy's in Asheville which was completely underwater at one point.

North Carolina is a beautiful place. It had been my preferred retirement location 30+ years ago. I'd wanted to get a house on Lake Norman. Today I saw a video of houses, boats and other things floating by through the lake.

Sad.
