Re: humminbird 565

I have the 565 and like it a lot for the money. If I had money to spare I'd upgrade to one with side imaging, either the 798 of the 997.

Re: humminbird 565

I have a 565 and when first installed i loved it, worked great, easy to see. I now have a problem with it and can't find anybody with the same problem. When i turn it on it works great until i get in 300' of water. The unit goes to .7 ft reading and stays there. Anybody got any ideals?

Re: humminbird 565

I have a year old plus Humminbird Model 570 Dual Beam, as I described in a previous thread, that I've been real happy with but that recently gave me a problem. I called Humminbird, described the problem to the customer service person who then consulted with their techs. From my description they concluded that I needed a new transducer. Several days later a new transducer arrived, NO CHARGE, which I installed the next day and which solved the problem.
FWIW, 68C15 I'd go for it & JW, give 'em a call. Bet they'll solve your problem.

Re: humminbird 565

My 565 gives me intermittent problems. My 585 never failed to give a good reading even after I cut the transducer wire, by accident, and spliced it back together. But I am thinking about trying another brand just to see what I'm missing if anything.
