Hull Flexing

I have a 80's Lund Pike which originally had a console which was removed (P.O). I now have a problem with the boat flexing near where the old console was. There are a few rivets which have cracked and come loose. Welding is required to fix some of the damage. The rib looks similar to this picture from another project. I am looking to stiffen the boat and dont know which is the best way. I plan a complete rebuild this fall so any help is appreciated.

Looks like the console or some of the fasteners which held it in place were structurally important. Do you have any pics of the inside where it was located?

It's possible to replace the structure with something that does the same job, but we need to see the inside of the boat.
